Topic: Music That Kills Posted: February 24 2015 at 16:28 |
Have you ever heard something on your car stereo that almost made you lose your fudge and drive off the road? It's happened to me a few times .. a song with a siren that has me craning my head around, freaking that i can't see which way it's coming ... another time there was a strange drum sound that sounded like something was breaking in the back seat. Obviously this is more effective when there's very sharp speaker separation. Tonight on the way home i heard a sound coming from the front that sounded like trapped ice coming free of the windshield wiper but it was on the inside.
No - i don't drink coffee - at all - let alone too much ..

I've been in 2 bad car accidents in my life, and the first one was caused by The Adventures of Greggary Peccary. The second by The Smithsonian Institute Blues. Zappa and Beefheart. Not that they actually caused it, but I remember they were playing at the time. What really messes me up driving are when my wife and/or daughter shout something suddenly while I'm driving. All is quiet, then out of nowhere, PUNCH BUG GREEN!! And a shot to the shoulder. I've outlawed that game in my car but they do it anyway. They'll be happy when we get wrapped around a tree, yeah.

My wife is a Cajun Coon-A$$ and she still plays that game......Punch-Buggy!! I only learned that game when I moved to New Orleans. She only does it when a rare VW Bug is spotted....

Osanna - Palepoli man... try listening to that while while driving and not putting yourself off a cliff... or a concrete barrier and you have the whole gamut of air instruments going while driving to steer your vehicle at 120mph with your knees...

I've had no such incidents while driving. Music tends to calm me down in some way. Even the scary stuff.

I ran up the back of a car when I floored mine whilst listening to ELP's Endless Enigma - during the 'big' part just before Greg starts singing. Pure, lethal POWER. Was at a set of lights and they happened to change green at that part of the song, I guess the driver in front drove 'normally' - no significant damage, the fellow was cool about it. My mate stacked his car twice - both times whilst Floyd's 'Money' happened to be on his car stereo. He got rid of DSOTM....
