Patterns akin to Minnemann's inserted in home tracks: played by the drums in "Sortie" and organ in "Tablette 6". With all layers only for hardly more than 2 seconds in each one... If you know about such patterns inserted in similar pieces, please post some links !

Pfffttt! Who needs drums to keep a beat!

Already mentioned by the bucket-load and over-obvious but I remember seeing this originally on the old grey whistle test and just thought that PC's work with Brand X was the best thing of his career full stop. Pity there isn't a better version of this available and fast forward the interview with Annie Nightingale..

If you enjoy Minnemann's polyrythm explorations you'll probably be fond of Camille Bigeault's

Ain't great pieces waiting for this drumming to be inserted into ?

As a drummer, thank you all for sharing all of these wonderful men and women of the percussive arts! It has been truly inspiring to watch (not quite) all of these embedded videos!

I'm really liking Extreme Metal drumming. They're mostly 'triggered' , the bass drums sound clicky as all-hell, but I love 'em. Part of the charm, and the musicians themselves are incredibly talented. Great drumming, no matter what !!

Surely, in our lifetimes this is one. Just how much great music has Stevie Wonder given us?

The answer is much.

Dude, check out Stephane Provencher's work on Gorguts' Erosion of Sanity record; these might be my favorite metal drums of all time:
