Carry on Wayward Son? Ha I'm not sure if you can consider that song prog
(though Kansas is) but it did introduce me to prog. The first real prog song I heard than would have to be Roundabout. |

It must be something from Pink Floyd, because it's one of the rare prog band to play on radio stations. I'm remember when I was a kid in the begining of 80's, me and my cousin we used to listen often to DSOTM (The vinyl record belung to my aunt)

The first truly proggy piece of music I consciously listened to was Cygnus X-1 Book II by Rush, nearly two years ago. The percussion work in particular was something of a revelation for me! I just knew I had to have more of this stuff. Edited by Fritha |

Without thinking, it'd no doubt be something by Tool, but I actually think my brother used to listen to some Pink Floyd when I was younger, so it would truly be one of their songs, albeit I don't know which.

I was quite young and it was close people to me that were playing this
stuff. The first prog rock I'd probably ever heard was when my dad
played Pink Floyd and Rush.

Genesis' Invisible Touch ... also around 1986 First prog tune by widely-recognised prog band ... Aqualung by Jethro Tull in either late 1989 or early 1990 ... |

Except Pink Floyd and Radiohead (I didn't know they were prog at that time)... "Kick Muck" [Ozric Tentacles]. A friend of mine made me listen to it to introduce me into the progressive world.. Luckly, he soon switched to Tool and Porcupine Tree or I'd have given up listening to prog music before starting! |

The same for me (I was slightly older ...) it was Number One on a german Radio poll for over a year (SWF Frank Lauffenberg) and I loved the song. 'The lamb' is still my favourite Genesis record. |

Maybe I herd some Pink Floyd when I was very young from my dad, but I do not remember anything. The first I discovered was Change of Season, I think.

21st Century Schizoid man followed by about a year half later I heard The Three Fates by ELP. I had also heard some Zappa but I couldn't tell you the song tiltles. |
