I heard this song twice on radio, unfortunately they didn't announce performer's name
There are lines in the chorus
"I don't know whYyy
and I don't know hOoow"
and 2 more lines which I dont remember
(stress is on the end of the phrase)
Style is pop-rock. Singer is male. Era is rather modern than 'retro' (I can't say exactly it is , but guess by production style )
why this song catched my year is because there is very good and quite long Hammond organ solo. Definitely not Deep Purple kind of :-) jazzy-bluezy ("Green Eyed Lady" is example of that kind).
My guess that singer is British or white American (just feel . it sounds like 'white' bluesy pop ,or so-called blue-eyed soul - think Robert Palmer or some poppy tunes of Eric Clapton or Sting)
could be Steve Winwood (quite similar singing style, and he also skilful Hammond player) but I can't find existence of song with such lyrics in his catalog
