I have to, in good conscience, propose that  sixties super group Cream be included in the Proto Prog category as the group's heavy synthesis of blues rock, extended instrumental passages and psychedelia is considered to be largely responsible for influencing later prog related groups such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, both of whom were heavily blues based and used both psychedelic touches and incorporated lengthy instrumental passages into their own music.

Well I suppose this has risen from my topic, but I do indeed agree with the addition.

One thing I noticed is the Sunshine of Your Love riff ("da na na na" in laymen's terms)  was used very much. Or at least it was popular.

Perhaps the two most famous examples.

Meh... Ginger Baker's Air Force isn't on here and to me I thought they would be in Jazz fusion too. I dunno... I always thought cream was too straight forward.

^Radicals are not necessary for proto, IMHO.

Spoonful may qualify them. Yes, it's a mainly a psychedelic blues, but my prog sensors vibrate...
