Being mid-aged... hate saying it, but true, I have come to the
conclusion that many of my friends and acquaintances loving prog-
music, the taste is not very regarded by their partners. So I thought
just for fun, making a poll at the forum, seeing if its true or not.

I read somewhere that 96% of KC fans are male. Go figure...

I have found that I bend more to my wife's choice of music, however, Prog is not of her liking. It's my "CAVE" music. When I want to be alone or am just having a  day. I get in the car or slip on some headphones and Prog OUT. Now my 13 year old daughter is forced to listen, as I drive her to school every day. I almost cried when I caught her singing "June" from Spock's Beard. I am teaching her some chords too. We really need a source for Prog Tabs.

I am very lucky in that my wife (after 15 years of extensive brainwashing) loves prog - the ones that took the longest to convince her of though were Yes (from "who's that mincing idiot on vocals??? " to Topographic Oceans being her favorite prog album ), and Zappa (from , gradually to , to , and finally to - then he died! )

I must be a lucky bastard... my wife loves even King Crimson,
especially The Red-album and especially Starless and Bible Black.
She even have taste for the Krautrock-genre, hmm... Im not into
that, well apart for some tracks by Can maybe, but then again Can
can be a very rockish thing sometimes. Anyway, keep on listening...

I'm very lucky! My wife mostly tolerates my music, and she even loves Marillion and Rush. I even find her humming and singing along with CTTE. I think she likes prog more than she realizes.

Yes, but not all of it.

Floyd, Yes, Genesis, Tull, ELP, TD, Rush are all fine with her, but Gentle Giant makes her antsy, VDGG makes her crazy, and Deus Ex Machina makes her murderous (much like "Prong Mental" does to me).Confused

The usual comment is "what's this rubbish you're listening to now?"

Mind you, she does quite like "Follow you, follow me" and "Northern Lights".

My other half likes some prog, including Pink Floyd, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Gong, Gryphon, Brian Eno and Holger Czukay.

For some strange reason she hates Magma though - go figure!

My imaginary partner loves prog and buys new CD's for both of us every week. After marathon sex sessions we discuss prog until the sun comes up...

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Andy, no doubt we'll meet three such women in the Coal Hole tonight.

After 14 pints of lager.

My wife likes prog... but I had to indoctrinate her.

She likes Italian Prog in general (PFM in particular) and Harmonium, Moody Blues, ELP, Genesis also a bunch of songs from Kansas, Pink Floyd, "Krautrock". But I'm always pushing the barriers...

Didn't happen though, did it. Probably because we only downed 13 pints and few kilos of Chicken Jalfrezi..

Good to see you and Simon again. I've just got home and my imaginary lady has just got in from her sex classes with some new moves to show me!
