I'm really not a fan of Mahavishnu but I can however appreciate the skills and chops of McLaughlin, Laird, Goodman, Cobham and Hammer. No other band here comes near them in terms of virtuosity. Again this is coming from someone who doesn't like Mahavishnu...maybe except for Apocalypse (George Martin bless his boots ).

I agree when it comes to 'virtuosity'......I like CTTE and Larks better but the playing is simply mind boggling on Birds. These guys were all virtuosos in their own right.

Larks' Tongues is my second favourite.
