I'm really not a fan of Mahavishnu but I can however appreciate the skills and chops of McLaughlin, Laird, Goodman, Cobham and Hammer. No other band here comes near them in terms of virtuosity. Again this is coming from someone who doesn't like Mahavishnu...maybe except for Apocalypse (George Martin bless his bootsHeart).

I agree when it comes to 'virtuosity'......I like CTTE and Larks better but the playing is simply mind boggling on Birds. These guys were all virtuosos in their own right.

^ I think the Yes fan boys are voting for the album and not the virtuosity factor.

Wink

Agreed, but since the poll question is also asking for artistic value (musical artistic value being in the ear of the behearer), and commands us to pick our favourite, I'm following my valued heart by voting for Dun's Eros, which in my value-judgement is both a fine artistic and virtuous musical adventure, and is also my favourite album of the list. Larks' Tongues is my second favourite.
Just a fanboy passin' through.
