Hello, prog friends!

Lana Lee have joined forces with some fellow musicians and friends to create a revision of Pink Floyd's classic "Cymbaline" (from the More soundtrack album).

We have made a DIY recording and a video montage for the track. Here is the YouTube link if you want watch it.

We hope you enjoy it, thanks so much for sharing!

Nice. It does get rid of a bit of that simplistic atmosphere that made the original so unique, but you did quite a job blending the Dark Side era spacey-Floyd with the 60's Floyd. You guys should do more stuff together.

Hello!,

Thanks so much for your feedback. We have always liked Pink Floyd's music and they have influenced us in some aspects. We tried to cover this song many years ago before turning instrumental, but it didn't work then. The idea went back as we wanted our friends to collaborate on it, and we found some time off to make it.

As you said, our approach is different in some aspects. Rick Wright's keyboards made the song so peculiar while our keyboard & synth arrangements sound more standard, and the inclusion of a guitar solo that didn't exist in the original takes our cover closer to the Dark Side style.

We have a bunch of Pink Floyd songs that we rate among our favorites (we have played "Interstellar Overdrive" as a closing number in some concerts, but in a free form, more focused on jamming and improvisation). Sooner or later we'll try out a new one, which would be nice for sure.

Cheers!

Thumbs Up
