Since hes passing, i have seen some of hes stand-ups preformances and guest apperances in talk show, but i have never really shown hem any notice before that. I was only aware of hes face from Iron Man movies, as that funny and slimy Hydra-friendly judge. He was a very funny indivual, but i have met many who is unaware of hes preformances, or existance. He seems and stems as one of the most innovative comedians, in same breath and impact as John Beluschi, Jerry Seinfeld and Loise C.K. he also remind me of Rich Hall. To me he is more known in america then europe.

SO is Garry Shandling an unappreciated and underrated comedian or am i wrong

In his time he was very appreciated.  But that hasn't lasted the way it did with Carlin, Seinfeld or C.K.

The Larry Sanders show has recently been added to HBO on demand/HBOgo, so I'll finally be able to see what the fuss is about. From my limited exposure to him, he seems very well regarded within the comedic community (and rightly so).

^ He was extremely funny but he didn't break through the comedy ceiling in a lasting way.   It's Garry Shandling's Show was new and somewhat innovative but didn't spark the imagination the way Seinfeld or Louis did.   I'm not exactly sure why, I think in a way his work was over-hyped as brilliant when really it was just comedy from a standup who'd been around a long time.
