One of the most unique actors of this has sadly passed away, a shining star among peers and true legend

Both as a lead role, a hero, a villan, supporting roles and as a voice actor, the finest actor with few equals

Very overlooked on the American side of the pond, I'm afraid. He was the hearbeat of I, Cladius and the Elephant Man. RIP.

Loved his characterizations in A Man for all Seasons and The Elephant Man. And then there's the infamous dinner scene from Alien.
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

Sad to read. I liked him in everything I saw him in.

Thank you for that video and for this topic. I used to be an active member of Amnesty International.

This was terrible news for me. He's been one of my very favourite actors and people for decades, and I did get the chance to meet him and speak to him briefly about twenty years ago.

Oddly enough, the first film I saw John Hurt in was Frankenstein Unbound. I loved his performance as the "War Doctor" on Doctor Who. R.I.P.
