Yes John Sloman did join Heep for the somewhat maligned 'Conquest' album. Sloman's not as at home in Heep as he was with Lone Star, but whatever, 'No Return' and 'It Ain't Easy' are two of the greatest Heep songs ever for me.

 Conquest is not as bad as often suggested - Out on the Street is very good too.

Yeah 'Out On The Street' is quite proggy, great synth solo from Ken Hensley but its too short!

If it had been done in the 70s it would have been a more 'pretentious' and 'self-indulgent' (ie enjoyable) solo. Hensley obviously thought "Hang on this is the eighties - everything is meant to suck!"
