what the fu ck is a podcast?
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

A Podcast is a programme that you can download and listen to on your MP3 player whenever you want rather than having to listen to on the radio exactly when they broadcast it.

One benefit of podcasts is that anyone can make their own programme and distribute it which means that radio stations do not have the only say in what gets broadcast. That means a bigger variety of programmes but no guarantee of quality.
