I've just found it on youtube. A 1968 album which has triggered my JR/F ears...

...but I'm everything but an expert in this field, so just in case at a first listen it's of any interest I will dig for informations and bio.

P.S. - there's also some classical/folk influence.

IIRC, Logan presented "Galatea's Guitar" from this album in one of the interactive polls. I've not actually listened to the album, but that track is quite gorgeous. Perhaps surprisingly, in spite of the album's age, it is available on Bandcamp: https://ebalunga.bandcamp.com/album/dreams

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

So I won't suggest him, regardless that book.

Listen to this. Pretty incredible for 1963 (released in '64) with Gabor on guitar. I can sort of hear "The End" (by The Doors) in his playing. Chico and his gang were doing their own kind of fusion in the years were "everyone else" were going free jazz. Because it doesn't fit the narrative it's somewhat historically overlooked imo.
