Fife Augury

Bio:

Coming from Marseille, France, FIFE AUGURY is a progressive rock duet created in 2019. Described as heavy progressive rock and progressive metal, it was formed by multi-instrumentalists William Moustrou (guitars) and Paul Roman (vocals, bass, keyboards & guitars).

Prior to the founding of FIFE AUGURY, the two friends met in 2014 in Marseille and played in the thrash metal band ALEISTER, before the split of the band. The two members then moved respectively in Ireland for Paul and in South Korea for Will, and used this time to digest many different musical influences. Back in France, inspired by their travels and a new horizon of musical discoveries, they started working as a duo on material for upcoming songs.
Driven by the desire for a total absence of compromises and the idea of being musically independent, FIFE AUGURY recorded and self-produced its debut album "The Shape of a Tree" in 2019, released in 2020. The 8-tracks album uses a wide variety of musical genres (classic prog, acoustic, blues, stoner rock, jazz-fusion or metal) as a tool to tell an inner journey about invitation to travel, loss, loneliness, religion and self-improvement.
It received positive reviews in Europe and North America as well.

In 2021, the duet recorded an acoustic live EP "Acoustics from HF" in order to support their first album.

Thanks, I will take more time to listen to this band and decide whether it's Prog Metal or Heavy Prog.
Music is the refuge of souls ulcerated by happiness.
