![]() Obiymy Doschu, a progressive rock band based in Kyiv, Ukraine, presents Vidrada, its third full-length album. Meticulously crafted over seven years, it's a unique blend of melodic progressive rock, lush live strings, influences from jazz, pop, post-rock, and neoclassical music, a touch of melancholy, poetic Ukrainian lyrics, and songs refined over years into monumental symphonies. The title Vidrada translates loosely as joy, refuge, solace. Created amid the hardships of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, the album stands as a testament to hope and resilience, featuring soaring melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and an uplifting message meant to support listeners through difficult times. The album delves into themes of reconnecting with childhood, finding solace in nature, the meaning of home, the fleeting passage of time, forging human connections in an increasingly divided world, and discovering the strength to persevere through darkness. Recorded in Kyiv’s top studios, the album was mixed by longtime collaborator Bruce Soord, frontman of The Pineapple Thief. Renowned for his work with modern progressive rock giants like Opeth, Katatonia, Riverside, Leprous, and TesseracT, Soord brings his signature touch to the album’s rich and immersive sound. Vidrada on Bandcamp: https://obiymydoschu.bandcamp.com/album/vidrada Other platforms: https://rain.in.ua/go/vidrada-en --- Our album “Vidrada” is finally here. We can’t put into words how much this moment means to us. This journey has been truly special, and it’s something we’ll be proud of for the rest of our lives. We hope your listening experience will be just as fulfilling, therapeutic, and joyful as the process of crafting it over the years. As an independent band with limited resources, we’ve done everything we can to give this album the audience it deserves. Now, it’s time to sit back and see how the world responds. If our music resonates with you, please help us spread the word — share the album with friends, post your thoughts on social media, add the songs to your playlists, rate the album, or write a review for your favorite music site. Every voice counts. No matter where this release takes us, we’ll keep making music with love and passion for as long as we can — and hopefully, it won’t take quite as long next time. There’s still so much we want to share. Stay tuned for updates: Vidrada will receive a high-quality vinyl release this fall — a first for us. Thank you so much for your support! Don’t be a stranger — we read every single message and are always happy to respond. Much love, Obiymy Doschu |
