I'm sure there are a great many I could have included, but I was curious about these two since they covered a similar space in time and popularity and perhaps fanbase.

^ To be honest, while I recognised the name, I still had to look it up. He's from Thin Lizzy if anyone else does not know. I recognise his picture. He died in 1986 at just 39.
I need to listen to more Cranberries. I was at a Philippines festival last year (tragic event at the last one here) and a band was doing a great cover of "Zombie". The singer said that The Cranberries was her favourite band. I really like this: EDIT to add: This has been one of my preferred songs of Sinéad O'Connor's (Fire on Babylon):
Perhaps I should have tried to add some live videos to fit your interests as you are hosting this topic, but I wanted to share some music I like in case someone might be interested. I like the dream pop and alternative rock of The Cranberries and the art pop of Sinead O'Connor. With both it has been the fairly early period music I know best. The tracks I chose are from 1993 and 1994 (some trip hop in the O'Connor one). I am very into 90s music and that was a very special time in my life, so some nostalgia at play. Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I was hoping for a Phil Lynott (1949-86) option.

Dolores for me, I love a lot of Cranberries. Sinead was a great singer, too, though.

I make typos so you see I'm not a machine, but I may be a machine pretending to not be a machine.

Never a huge fan of their recorded discogs personally, but I loved watching them perform, particularly when singing something traditional or non-pop.
