The Tony Williams album had two tracks written by Allan Holdsworth. So of course it gets my vote.

Without doubt or hesitation: Lenny White's Venusian Summer. Lenny's drumming is on a whole other level. Doug Rauch, Larry Young, Onaje Alan Gumbs, Ray Gomez, David Sancious, Jimmy "Hammond" Smith, Patrick Gleeson, Pete Robinson, Tom Harrell, and Doug Rodgrigues are absolutely amazingThe guitar shredding duel between Al Di Meola and Larry Coryell on the 11:38 "Prince of the Sea" may be the greatest adrenaline pumping J-R Fusion song of all-time! And then there's "Mating Drive" . . . one of my Ten Favorite songs of all-time . . . Can't say enough about this sublime-yet-surprisingly-diverse album. Some of the best recorded drumming ever.

Tough call but I went with Tony Williams. I really like Level One by Eleventh House, Venusian Summer, Mind Transplant, No Mystery, Visions Of The Emerald Beyond and more.

I was pleasantly surprised by David Sancious's album, Forest of Feelings. I knew him mostly from his work with Sting in the '90s, although I was familiar with his fusion work from the '70s. But listening to it is a different story!
