1. Moving Waves (Eruption is one of my favorite side-long tracks)

2. Hamburger Concerto (This is a close 2nd)

3. In and Out of Focus (Great debut! Up there with ELP, ItCotCK, This Was, & Quella Vecchia Locanda)

4. Focus III (Great album once you get past "Round goes the gossip")

  4. Ship of Memories
  5. Focus: Jan Akkerman and Thjis Van Leer
  6. Focus 8

I voted for Hamburger Cocerto (#1), I have the original ´74 vynil (Mexican edition) and the Japanese CD re-edition.

Anyway, Eruption closing section it´s outrageous too.

I dont vote for live albums, but the Hamburg Concert
does capture their talent live well. Voted for Focus 3
but I wish Hocus Pocus was on it too!

Moving waves, mainly for Hocus Pocus and Eruption.

I once did a cover of Hocus Pocus with my old band Interface in the early 80's. Unfortunately it was never recorded But I was quite chuffed at being able to get that top note!

I don't think it's that easy. For me Focus II, sorry, Moving Waves (has initially been released as "Focus II"  in the Netherlands, both Focus' and my country of birth) has the most memorable melodies, but in those days Focus didn't know how to wrote a coherent epic yet.

Focus III is very good too, though sometimes the music is a bit long-winded. I'm not so keen on the sound / production of both Moving Waves and Focus III.

Hamburger Concerto is my favourite, because the record is exciting from A to Z. The sound is fantastic and the epic is top-notch. This album is their peak performance. Hey, I'm one of the few people who can understand the Dutch words they're singing on the epic

For me:

1. Hamburger Concerto

2. Moving Waves

3. Focus III
