Here I am

Hello everybody at prog forum!

Here I am from Italy. First af all, I apoligize for my english's not so good. Anyway, but my ears certainly are, as I like progressive rock! As I live in Pompeii, I see the amphitheatre in which Pink Floyd realised their film from my window... so, you see, maybe prog was written in my stars! I'm 44, and I started listening to Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, VDGG, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and so on in the late seventies... the eighties offered to my prog ears Marillion, IQ , Pendragon or Pallas, but I also like many new bands, even if I'd like a little more creativity in the XXIst century heirs of Gabriel, Waters, Hammill & co.

I decided to join this community after some weeks as a mere reader of your posts... they're very interesting! I'm sure I'm gonna learn more about the kind of music I like.

as you imagined, I didn't hear Pink Floyd in early 70's: I was just a child, then... but I know of course someone who was there, in the ruins during the the film sessions. Oh, they were just a few: some elevtric society workers and some lads... how lucky!

Did you enjoy the ruins? I do think they're a special place, but... after all those years they're just a part of my usual landscape...

My God! You're hard to die, then! I'd never walk around for hours under 40+ degrees! That's why I always choose northern locations for my summer holidays. Tricks apart, maybe the success of UK progressive bands in Italy depends also by their rainy athmosphere, their melancholy... who knows?
