... but i have been so wrapped up with reading about the bands on this site, as well as replying to the more interesting topics that I simply didnt think of saying hello.

Hello.

Im a 37 year old dude tied up to the computer in the middle of country music hell (Tamworth, Aust - OK its not that bad, except in the second half of January where the country music festival brings the worst of sonic manipulation).  Ive made several attempts at learning to play an instrument, but have only progressed so far b4 life got in the way... oh well...

B4 bumping into this site, my prog tastes were those of the 'well known' variety.  Loved Floyd for the last 2 decades, King Crimson, Zappa (thou he took me a while to get used to), Jethro Tull, early Genesis... Then my tastes went 'left'

Then got into Residents, Skinny Puppy, SPK, Einstuzende Neubaten, Birthday Party, Dead Can Dance, anything that came out of the 4AD record studios..... Shared a place with a jazz guitarist for a while who introduced me to what he called 'seatbelt music' (mostly 'hot' or 'experimental' jazz). Then came musical stagnation for many years till now. (special thanks to u guys for awakening me out of musical torpur... I thought i was the only oddball here)

Am also interested in finding out what different ppl hear in the music they listen to... whether it is melody interations, a driving rhythm, cool lyrics, songs in 11/8, etc.  My ears seem to be ever hungary and wish for ever diverse experiences.

Enjoyeth one and all.

I really like this jacket, but the sleeves are much too long.

I guess if being a music freak is oddball, then I am as odd as they come, my friend.

As far as what I hear(or want to hear) in what I'm listening to? I like many changes, different instruments taking the lead, lyrics that make me search their meaning.

Seat-Belt Music....that's pretty cool.

Cheers,Dude!

Lyrics of the week
Cast out a spell rendered for the light of day
Lost in lights array
I ventured to see,as the sound began to play
