I just watched the video on the song Sevendust is promoting from their 2005 album, the song "Ugly." Yes, it is an Ugly song. I listened to Sevendust for several years, I grew up with this band roaring out of my headphones and CD player, yet "Ugly" doesn't even convince me their new album is worth hearing. I've got four studio albums and a live acoustic album by Sevendust, I think they all have their moments (I'm bias), but this new song is terrible, nu-metal screamo marketed nonsense. I don't want to hear that anymore, if I did I'd probably listen to the radio once in a while.
It sounds like producers and MTV money-raped Sevendust into sounding like Korn, Killswitch Engage, and Shadows Fall. How typical...

In response to you RYan, they actually produced NEXT themselves on
their own label, SevenBros. Records which has distribution through
Universal. I agree Ugly is an odd track, but you should give the
album a chance. it is great. Has anyone seen them live?

If what you say is true then I am surprised. The track "Ugly" really fits in with the angry rock-metal movement we've been seeing in America and Europe for about a decade or more now. Perhaps Sevendust needs someone watching over them?
I'll probably give it a chance...

I really like Sevendust, especially their debut and their sophomore album Home.
One of the good things about them is their singer Lajon Witherspoon, who has a great voice.
