Promoting a band from your country

I wonder.... When you hear a new band from your own country, do you use the PA e.g. to sort of promote this band the best way you can so that "everybody" will get the opportunity to find out who this band are. And do you honestly write a review in a objective and neutral way and compare it to other bands in the genre or do you just want everyone to get a CD because this is "so fantastic" music.
And regarding your favorite band, is everything that they make "fantastic"? I have the feeling that a lot of the reviews definitely ain't objective from reading a lot of the reviews.
