So the Mars Volta is about to kick off a tour with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers Shocked.  The nearest concert to me is about 3-4 hours away (which is no big deal) but they're playing with the chilli peppers. Which means, I have to pay more than just The Mars Volta not get as good of seats in a more crowded arena and they won't play for the 2 1/2 hours like they do on their own.
But hey I'm still happy I'll get to see them.

This tour is gonna be awesome...My friend, who is a huge RHCP fan (and adamant TMV hater...go figure) got us tickets, and when I told him TMV was touring with them he laughed. But hey, I like RHCP a lot too, and I've never seen TMV live, so should be interesting

Well, it shouldn't be so surprising, seen as Flea and John Frusciante play on both TMV albums. BTW, I thank you all for the information - I'll try to catch the gig, even if I'm not a big RHCP fan (I like some of their stuff, but it's not really my cup of tea).

I was excited to hear that the tour is coming within about half an hour of where I live. I'm definately going. I'm a big fan of RHCP and TMV, so it should be a good show. The only problem for me is getting the money for the tickets.
