The b******d media are still at it

Did anybody read/see Sarah Dempster's article in the yesterday's Guardian? In a piece titled Why I Love 70's Album Covers, she gets round with some measured acid with the following:

.....and Jethro Tull's Songs From The Wood, in which singer Ian Anderson squats, as if at stool, in a rubbish-strewn forest ( thus encapsulating his band's contribution to rock).

As ever somebody who has not probably heard this music but still has an unwelcome and false criticism - e.mail her at the Guardian to return some of the acid. Sorry can't supply her's, unlike some newspaper the Guardian is not brave enough to publish the e.mail addresses of their journalists.

I know Exactly how you feel.  Out of thousands of students, I am the only one that listens to prog.  I am constantly surrounded by people who listen to rap or *shudder* slipknot.  people just refuse to listen to good music. I will be listening to something in school and people are all like " You actually like that sh*t? Man you should listen to something that takes talent like slipknot or atreyu."   I told this one guy about ELP and how they don't use guitar and he said it sucked before he listened to it. 

I hate it when people just refuse to give prog a chance....

I read a few months ago a review by a a$$hole named C. Bottomley in VH1 about Point of Know Return and tried to find it today but VH1 erased it because the bunch of insults the guy received.

He said Kansas was a band of mediocre musicians who needed to learn that there are more than 5 notes, also wrote that the album was a piece of crap with only one decent song of course he was talking about Dust in the Wind which in fact is the weakest.

Also insulted member by member and thanked God that the album was short so he didn't had to listen too much crap.

Of course he choosed words that I had to search for and  I thought it was because English is not my first language, but afriend from the UK told me he also had to search for those words.

But the same guy wrote an excelent review about ABBA and a few rappers.

So the lack of interest ofthe so called critics in prog' is not new, they write good reviews only about the bands that the Music Industry (Their masters and owners) want.
