Topic: RHCP Vs. Mr. Bungle Posted: June 14 2006 at 21:11 |
I found out about this the other day from my friend who is a huuge bungle fan. Apparently, Mr. Bungle's latest album, "California" was too similarly named to "Californication", the RHCP album , and the record execs made Bungle push back their release by about a month. So, the two don't really like each other. Theres a really funny video on Youtube of Mr. Bungle live doing a RHCP parody. But the main point of this is, is this still going on? I was thinking about the lyrics of "Dani California" and it clicked:
California, rest in peace Simultaneous release
Were not California and Californication released very close to each other? Like within a month? Is this RHCP's way of rubbing it in that their album was more successful? Do I have too much time on my hands?

Here's a link to a Mr. Bungle FAQ page. About 1/4 of the way down the page it talks about the feud between Patton and Kiedis.

My words are spiders upon the page, they spin out faith, hope and reason but are they meet and just, or only dust gathering about my chair?
