I just recieved an email stating that Steve Hackett has just finished a new "rock" album. It is tiltled "Wild Orchids," and will be released on September 11th.
Apparently he is also working on a new acoustic album. Always great to see one of the best still hard at work. |

Me too,great news!
Steve's new studio album 'Wild Orchids' is due for release on 11th September. The Special Edition will contain 17 tracks, lyrics, and Steve's personal comments about the music. It's a rock album, but you know Steve - there's likely to be some surprises! |

I like "Metamorpheus," It's an orchestral album, so it can't really be compared to his other works. The new one is going to be rock. If it is anything like "Darktown," and "To Watch the Storms," it will be a welcome addition to my collection. |

I just got the promo copy of this in the mail today, I'm ripping it now for www.progrock.com - the one sheet says that it is like a cross between To Watch The Storms (which I found very uneven) and Metamorpheus (which I enjoy when I'm in the mood for that kind of thing). I haven't heard it yet, but I'll know tomorrow.

Just listened to a few tracks. Sounds like Hackett, don't hear any orchestrations on the tracks I listened to so far. I just really wish that Hackett would either learn to sing properly or get a singer because the heavily affected and pitched vocals is really getting old. The music is ok, but nothing special, at least what I've heard so far. I loved so many of those early hackett albums, I think he worked best in a band context.

That's too bad. Any acoustic parts?

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks. |
