anybody knows IN THE WOODS please participate in giving recognition for this band here in PROG-ARCHIVES

why OPETH on the site ? while their damnation is the only album that could be qualified as 100% prog album , their early works is pure death-metal as IN THE WOODS were in their early days just black-metal (still prog if u got the ears!)

anyway this band has great prog-metal unique style
they influenced a lot by PINK FLOYD , also psychedelic-prog of the 70's of various bands in that genre

they may not be a lot of keyboards as clear as any other prog band in a lot of their albums but there's a piano here and there and keyboards wierd effects all around .
they have three guitarists and two vocalists one male of and another female one ,both great .

look for the tree subtitled IN THE WOODS in that link if you're interested .

You can't call Opeth death metal just because of the vocals.  They may be edging towards death metal but you cant possibly refer to them as PURE death metal as their music has scant few of the required elements

I'd agree that In the Woods... are more progressive than Opeth (it also helps that I like them more). Incidentally, has anyone heard their cover of "White Rabbit"? Excellent stuff.

well ... Metropolis
you are right there, OPETH shouldn't be called PURE death
but the final result for me when i listen to early OPETH
works tends to be death more than prog, same for IN THE WOODS early works dark black-metal is the reslut .

anyway i am not talking just about OPETH
i am making a slight comparison between both bands so progheads get the idea of IN THE WOODS , cos it's worth it a lot believe me
you didn't mention anything about the other band in your reply !

let me hear your opinion of IN THE WOODS
