Another swedish band from the progg-movement of the 70's.
They didn't play progg, they played russian folk music with many different versions of the russian instrument, "Balalajka".
They were formed in 1968, and active during 1969-1973, 1979, and 1992-2006
They released 4 records during the years active:
Södra Bergens Balalajkor (1971)
1973 (1973)
Skiva (1979)
KamarinSkaya (1992)

The first 3 was only released on Vinyl, but the last only on CD.
Their records are seen as Common, and their latest cd is quite easy to get, even today!
I would put them in Prog-Folk.

I sense a contradiction here

"Another swedish band from the progg-movement of the 70's. They didn't play progg, they played russian folk music"

Anyone else know this band?

You could still smell prog, or progg in there.
It's like a prog-folk band playing more folk than prog.

Progg isn't Prog though, thus Proggbands don't belong here.

Samla Mammas Manna is Prog, in my opinion. They incorporate a variety of styles in their music, and their music is complicated and virtuosic. To be honest I haven't heard Södra Bergens Balalajkor (though my mother was a friend of the band), but I have heard other Progg bands, and I don't consider those Prog.

In the swedish book, "200 Proggplattor", Samla Mammas Manna is seen as just another band from the Progg-movement. Confused
I consider them to be a mixture LOL

Well yes, but they still have a large enough dose of Prog in there to justify them being classified as such, unlike the other Proggbands I've heard.
