New reviewer...

As you might've noticed, I've posted some reviews, but I've never really visited the forums before. I doubt I'll be very active around here, other than posting a few questions, but I thought I'd say hi anyway.

 

What kind of music I listen to? A lot of prog kinds, most of which are newer bands, but some older ones too. Vague, innit? Well, things like Metallica, Iron Maiden, The Beatles...legends like that, I don't really listen to at all, nor do I listen to gruntbands like Opeth, Scar Symmetry, and all those non-melodic metal bands out there. Bands like Rhapsody and Sonata Arctica I can appreciate, but they're on the edge. Things like Strapping Young Lad give me the creeps.

 

I started off with Pink Floyd and Collins-era Genesis, then added Arena, IQ and Jadis, and slowly expanded from there. Things like Pallas, Threshold and Ayreon were added, and soon I would get my paws on lots lots more, both older and newer progrock and prog/gothic metal. Things like Within Temptation, The Gathering, Dead Soul Tribe, Pagan's Mind, Solaris, Elfonia, Symphony X, Landmarq, Omega, Sylvan, Saviour Machine, Quidam, Plackband, Nightwish, Mostly Autumn, Mindfeed, Kino, Moongarden, Lizard, Collage, Dream Theater, Dreamscape, Stream of Passion...to name but a few of the many albums I've gathered over the years. A lot? Yeah...but I don't have any other expensive hobbies.

 

Well, that's that. I'm off to ask a few questions, and maybe post yet another review.
