I suppose Syd's prog-related...

Hello. Just started a listin' to Barrett (the album AND the man) today. And, all I can say for now is, Holy Crap! On one hand, I love this guy, he's hi-larious! On the other, he's as repetetive and droning as sin. Oh well. Not here to review, I'm here to ask!

First off, what's up with the savage link between Waving my Arms in the Air and I Never Lied to You. Are they meant to be as one, or is that my CD?

Also, how much of this is really Syd? A lot seems to be David Gilmour...

Oh, and, what about my favorite track, Rats? Syd starts singing off key, right? That's not just me?

You have to remember that Syd was sick during this time. His behaviour was erratic and unstable. The recording sessions were frustrating and tiresome. Syd is playing and singing on all the tracks. David and Rick only played on some tracks and help produce it.
I'm not sure about your "savage link". I haven't played Barrett in a long time.
I like Syd's work (love Floyd), some tunes are real gems. I find listening to them , however, is bitter sweet. Such a sad decline for such a talented man.
Syd is sadly missed.
Here I'm shadowed by a dragon fig tree's fan
ringed by ants and musing over man.
