Topic: Alexei Laiho vs Chuck Shuldiner Posted: October 26 2006 at 06:02 |
Both are guitarists with their own "wild" technique, both are leaders and creators of most of music performed by their bands, both play(ed) cca deathmetal mixed with some other genres, both are crawling leadsingers, so who is(was) better?

^ agreed. Maybe Laiho is more versatile, but we can only speculate how Schuldiner's playing would have evolved after the Control Denied album.

In terms of sheer mind boggling shred ability, one has to give it to Alexi (especially considering he's, what, 24?), but Chuck was a far more interesting composer.

As opposed to... Huck Schuldiner?
Definitely Chuck for me, some of my guitar work with Death. I can not relate to Children Of Bodom songwriting at all (for me, listening to one cheesy band is enough, and my pick was Dragonforce ).

I really like both of them, but I have to say Chuck.
