Topic: Artists poll Posted: February 17 2007 at 11:44 |
Hello...
I don't know them...Just often hear about them here and there...
Have I been losing a lot in your opinion not "meeting" their recorded art until today?
Thanks in advance for any opinion...

Hard to compare such artists.
For the electronic music fan: Tangerine Dream
For very romantic, full-bodied, classic prog: Renaissance
For excellent jamming of all sorts: Can
For the best of the Canterbury scene: Caravan
For a bit of everything and with some humor: Frank Zappa
Personally, I'd give Tangerine Dream and Frank Zappa the highest honors from this list.

Zappa, Softs, Tange and Can are the important ones, Renaissance being the least essential in my view. clicking on Zappa because he r legend

I grew up with SOFT MACHINE, they were the leaders of the Canterbury scene.
They were wild, original, very creative, crazy ,totally unpredictable , you never knew what the next album wOULD sound like. They had their own sound. Nobody else had the sound of HUGH HOPPER or MIKE RATLEDGE, nobody else sung like ROBERT WYATT or KEVIN AYERS. They were unique!
