Yeah, we and our favourite bands are pompous, but at least we admit it and have some sense of self-irony about it. (And we have a better taste for music than those other ignorant, low minded trend followers, whom we have a mission to enlighten.) It's only the people/bands/whatever without a sense of humour that are pompous in a bad way.
