Staying with Keystudio....An attempt to return to form...good, but not quite there.....I like it, but not as well as the others still remaining.....

Out of the 3 Yes albums I have heard (Drama, Close To The Edge, Fragile) I like Drama the least.

Well thats most likely because Drama isnt with the "classic" line-up that gave us CTTE and Fragile. It's still an awesome album in it's own right though.

BTW I am pleased that Talk & the 1st 2 albums have stayed alive this long (despite being disappointed over 90125's early exit.....)

I am pleased that Magnification is still around. It shows that they can still make great music 40 years later!

I really don't understand why Magnification was held as a return to form. I'm not going to vote it out just yet by any means- there IS some excellent material, notably the title track, Spirit Of Survival, Can You Imagine, Dreamtime and In The Presence Of, but also some soppy ballads like Soft As A Dove and I find the strings add to the syrup. And I HATE Don't Go...I said in my review it sounds more like Buggles did than 'Drama' which had Buggles in the line-up!! I personally prefer The Ladder...even though I readily admit that's not flawless either.

However, my vote this time round still goes to Keystudio. Pretty weak stuff, save the intro to That That Is and the excellent Mind Drive.

Hmmm, looks like there is no saving Keystudio this time Cry

I'll go with their first album.  Good album, but certainly the least progressive of what is left...

If you lived nearer I would send you my eponymous Yes cd, or one of my Talk cd's. Anything to keep you from voting Drama. :) I think it's better than just about everything that came after although I don't have Magnification. I'm still voting for Talk. It's a well named album... as musically interesting as talk radio.

Haha, if Keystudio (well, Keys to Ascension 2 to be precise) was released in '69, it would now probably be considered as revolutionary as ItCotcK and as good as CttE. Like Snow Dog said before, some people are never satisfied.
I voted for the first album.

Ahhh....but that's the point it wasn't released in '69...It came out in '96 & '97......It is Good, but not great overall....Some flashes of greatness here & there, but not there yet.....I like The Ladder & Magnification much better....

Actually, so do I, especially The Ladder - but I still think Keys is great, and to my ears it's even closer to the early 70's spirit. Oh, well... it seems it's getting voted out anyway, so nevermind.
