I'm trying to upload a new avatar picture and I get the following error -

I think it has been agreed that avatars can no longer be uploaded on PA. The only way to deceive the system now is to upload the avatar using a website like imageshack, tinypic or photobucket and then copy and paste the link into the appropriate space.

My current Avatar is from the internet, I just searched for an image and linked it.

Edit

Do you mean youn were uploading from your PC?

If so, just find the pic you want with google and use that, no need to resize.

That should work... Aside from the cases when the image can not be found on the internet (in the desired form).

One little nuance though, if you upload an avatar without resizing it, your collaborator profile will display it full size (the consequences of this vary from not so annoying to ridiculous - just look at The T's profile for instance).

I know, I was part of that argument.
