just listen to ma-18 minutes of well-balanced prog-metal fusion rock sound.why not trying to perceive them as the pioneers of pure rock???

By  Rare Earth, do you mean the Tamla Motown's white rock band, who had a big hit in mainland Europe in early 70's -

believe it or not Dick - its true - "Ma" does space out, 10 mintutes in - morphing into a space-rock interlude of 'Hawkwind-ian' proportions (only better). Its quite amazing. And Yes - it is the "Get Ready" band.
