I considered mentioning Rush in my previous posts in this thread, but I decided that letting things take their natural course would mean additional fanfare for the Lee/Lifeson/Peart outfit... and I was right.
The moment I chose my monicker I wondered how long I would have to wait until someone made a play on words out of it. It took a lot longer than I had thought .

ELP?
Try to get into Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart and Magma. They are really worth the effort!

Reed, I love Rush, I've got A Farewell To Kings and I think the album his great, aspecially Xanadu ! My favorite Rush song is 2112 but I don't think I'll buy the album because some people told me the other song weren't worth it...
Karn, there is to much great band out there to be a super fan of just one, I love them all, music in general is the most precious thing in the world and we shouldn't make ourselves boundries by just liking one band in particular, but yeah... ELP Rocks !
As for Magma, I'll chek them out for the second time right after I post this. I,ve also heard Capt. Beffheart and Zappa's Mp3s and I must say that I was surpised and confused, tuff music to listen to.. but I know that if I try harder, I'll be rewarded.. (that's what I did to get into bands like Can and Amon Duul II)

Hey! I just want to throw in my 2 cents worth. I want to welcome you to the forums, and hope you find a lot of enjoyment in the material we have here. My advice would definately be to check out those early giants that Maani referred to. In particular, go and listen to some Moody Blues: they are absolutely fantastic. The albums "Days of Future Passed" (1967) and "To Out Children's Children's Children" (1969) are all worth your time...but bear in mind, you WILL have to go out and get all of the Core 7 albums (67-72)!
