As I was walking round Grosvenor Square
Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air
From the other direction she was calling my eye
It could be an illusion, but I might as well try
Might as well try

She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes
And I knew without asking she was into the blues
She wore scarlet begonias, tucked into her curls
I knew right away she was not like other girls
Other girls.....

Scarlet Begonias my favoriteCool

I've seen them live once.  Great t shirts.  I only have two CDs and am not in a hurry to add more: Anthem of the Sun and Terrapin Station.  I think any die hard progger would like Terrapin Station Part 1.  Any of you big fans know if there was ever a Part 2?
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I am not a deadhead, but a big fan ....'nearly all their output is interesting depending on your musical taste : Psy-impros, Jazz, Rock'n Roll, Blue Grass, R&B, Gospel, even Symphonic...
in terms of Prog I would put N° 1 on
'Anthem Of The Sun' which approaches modern contemporay music , BTW Tom Constanten a classical trained keyboarder used the 'Prepared Piano ' technic introduced by John Cage on this  record + they got a great contract with unlimited recording time !!!! WB regretted this rather quickly.... so GD used the studio as a tool on it's own ....the number of overdubs  they used for this record is incredible.... there is a nice feature on the Classic Records DVD about the 'AOTS' sessions as well as for  'AB'...

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"
