I was looking at the TOP 100 Studio Album Progressive Music Albums today and I saw THE DOORS at number 62, based on a total number of 37 ratings!!!!
 
So THE DOORS better represents the spirit of progressive music better than, for example,
 
 
 
 
 
 
Does anybody else see this as a monstrosity?   Surely we can change the algorithm to keep albums from being listed until they have 100 or 150 ratings.

I dont think that the problem is number of ratings. The problem is that proto prog and prog related are on the same list. A lot of people have already stated that these albums shouldn't be on the list (and frankly I agree) but that's the real problem. Allowing those with fewer ratings helps people discover new bands.

The absence of bass-guitar isn't the problem. The problem are both the number of ratings & the fact that protos and relateds share a same list with the rest of prog albums.

Exactly, a real blasphemy.
The best you can is good enough...
