I bought their two albums what I'd wanted to do for a long time. This is a long lasting polish project of various polish musicians (the lineup changed in time). They play instruments from various parts of the world - korean kaya-gum, indian tabla, polish ligawa and so on. Also flutes, various percussion instruments - even jugs (yes!). On one album they're accompanied by a jazz trumpeter Tomasz Stańko. Their output is entirely acoustic, improvised - a theater of natural sounds!
I really don't know how to classify them - prog folk, indo prog/raga rock? I can serve you with samples. Edited by Tuzvihar - July 27 2007 at 11:02 |

I got this albums from '82 (Roots) with two long tracks on it. Similar to Archimedes Badkar, Embryo, Aktuala, Baba Yaga... You know, the stuff Dallasbryan, Philippe and Oliverstoned digs. I think its brilliant too. They undoubtly belong here. BTW: They are also called Ossian. |

Well, I don't have this particular album. I've got other two: Initially they were called Ossian but they slighly changed spelling of their name (to Osjan) whan they found out that there was another band using the name. Thanks for the support! |

I've found two samples of their music. You can listen to them here:

I've only heard about them a few years ago...
Quite an anigmatic band... Anyway, aren't they rather a folk/world music band? |
