you're right, but i thik that Panties is an ironic song about the political situation in Italy, where member of the parlament have trouble with showgirl and cocaine.
65% of members of italian parlament have drugs.

Uhm... For my personal point of view Dire Strates are Prog... (also if too band in 80 has Prog flavour). But not this!!!

Straits are one of the 80's PR bands... Not PR!!! (like Police, Tears For Fears... For examples).

Sounded like an imitation of some of Hendrix's early stuff. The deal is Jimi left those kind of guitar riffs behind and moved on because they were played out.
