I've checked on amazon and ebay for the original pressing of Gary's Album(CD) "Back on the Streets". They show a new release of an album of the same title, this is a compilation that includes the track "Back on the Streets".

I have the original vinyl pressing and at one time had the CD.

There are three ripping prog tunes (unlike anything he did before or since although "Dark Side of the Moog" from Colleseum would be in that vein) entitled:

"What would you rather be or a Wasp"
"Hurricane"
"Flight of the Snowmoose"

The most important detail is the drumming of Simon Phillips. He is not credited on the album jacket but there is little question that it is Simon.

Anyone out there know where i might find a new or used or even very used copy of this on CD????

Thanks in advance

I will look in my local music stores, since here in Italy Gary Moore is quite popular, and his records are easy to find. He's one of my fav guitarists of all time, and his work with Colosseum II is superb. However, as he is not in PA as a solo artist, don't be suprised if you find this thread moved to the General Music section.Smile

I used to have this one. It's a very schizophrenic effort; halfway between Colosseum II's technoflash jazz rock and the heavier directions he went in during in the 1980s. Most of it is on the anthology 'Streets And Walkways' too, which is easily available on CD if you're struggling to find 'Back On The Streets'. For me, though I love the work he did with Thin Lizzy not long after, the jazz rock tracks are much more interesting, though they fit rather uneasily with the rockers.

Interesting! I've never even owned a Thin Lizzy album. Would you have a suggestion for a first timer from  them? Prog related if possible and instrumental would be most preferred!!!

Thanks Salmacis

Thin Lizzy have no albums that are prog-related. Some are loosely conceptual like Jailbreak.
They are a classic heavy rock band and their best album is their legendary live album, Live And Dangerous.
