Topic: De-loused vs Frances Posted: September 04 2008 at 15:02 |
I still don´t understant how it is that Frances always loses! I mean De-loused is an incredible album, but Frances might very well be among the most brilliant albums (not all on it, but most of it) to come out this decade! It took them even further and I don´t see them toping it any time soon

Frances. The only major flaw on that album is the interminably slow 4:00 minute lead-in to Miranda. Pretty much everything else is pure gold.
De-Loused is great too, of course.

De-loused just for the cover concept alone.

frances was just too much. the band tried to hard i think and the music suffered. on deloused everything seemed natural and the music flowed well. i like frances but deloused kills it by a long shot.

Frances the Mute. It has a few more better ideas than De-loused and it has the mother of all modern epics: Cassandra Gemini.

These are my two all-time favorite albums. On this site, De-Loused will kill their other albums, though. I'm going to vote for Frances, because it deserves to be closer in the competition.

De-Loused in the Comatorium, no question. Just such a brilliant album, whereas Frances... is very frustrating because of all the electronic noises.

The Mars Volta's first two albums are modern classics to me. I have listened to those albums plenty of times. And they never get old. So the question is which one is your fave.
