I did a few forum searches, yielding no results, but I still couldn't believe it.  How did we not have this poll yet?

so there is one out there already?  I'm not crazy? wonder why I couldn't find it using the search tool.  If it exists then this poll can be taken down by the mighty admins.

I remember a Kubrick poll - he's my favorite director, so of course I remembered it

It may not have come up because it wasn't in a "prog" lounge.

Anyways - for me nothing gets better than the Shining. Jack Torrence is a horrifically terrifying character from any way you look at him and the epic story telling employed in the movie along with the suspense and pure, unfiltered filmmaking prowess just makes this one amazing. Some of Kubrick's movies are rather 'drawn out' at 3+ hours, but this one always breezes by while I'm watching it.

A Clockwork Orange for me although Dr. Strangelove and 2001 are close behind for 2nd and 3rd.

My vote is for Alex and his droogs, but Gunnery Sgt Hartman , Provate Jocker, Private Cowboy, Rafterman, etc are in a close second place.

I made a Kubrick poll also, two years ago I think... 2001 is still the ultimate film experience for me, so of course I´ll go with that one.

I´ve yet to see something from Kubrick I don´t like. Only Lolita could hold that place, and it´s not a bad movie...

I like everything I've seen from him, but Eyes Wide Shut is my favourite.

His best work is 2001. My favorite is Dr. Strangelove. And Barry Lyndon is one of the most underrated masterpieces ever, alongside Scorsese's The King of Comedy.
