I have a suggestion. Maybe itīs been suggested before, but I couldnīt find anything about it.
In addition to having the 100 most prolific reviewers list on the frontpage, I think it would be helpful with a most prolific reviewers list per genre ( maybe the 10 most prolific???). Not necessarely on the frontpage but maybe on the genre pages. There are many genres ( more than 20) on PA and if I want recommendations I would like them from someone I know has listened to a lot of albums in a certain genre. Now Iīve been here about a year now and Iīm still learning who to ask. As a newbie on the site it was very difficult and looking in the 100 most prolific reviewers list for answers isnīt necessarely the best place to start. One guy might be very experienced in the symphonic prog genre but not in the progressive electronic genre and so on. I see lots of people asking for recommendations in the forum and thatīs a great place to be inspired but some people donīt use the forum and this might be a help to them. I know I would have used the feature before I started visiting the forum and itīll still have value for me today ( when someday I want to break into that progressive electronic genre).
What are your opinions about this? Good or bad idea?

For what reason should this be a bad idea?
That's great and helpful indeed - similar to the collab page where your reviews can be seperated by genre ... |

Interesting idea (and a good one I think) !
But does having experience in a genre mean that you will have similar taste with this prolific reviewer? I find at times that people with few reviews (or even ratings only) have similar tastes to mine, while folks with many reviews - well we differ on many albums. So they do not serve as my "guideline" as to what to get - maybe they could be used as a guide to what not to get? I read other reviews in other websites, and from people who review many albums, and many times we differ in taste, so equating "prolific review writing" with "good advice to follow" isn't necessarily true. So, it's not that the idea isn't good, it's just the assumption in its core doesn't necessarily hold up in all cases. But again, it is a good idea cause it can serve many people looking for advice. |

A perfect idea for the more (semi-)'obscure' genres, where Team Specialists have devoted time to review many, different artists and works. And since we're going for a top 10, we'll have a mixture of Collab reviewers who delved into the goods of that particular genre and fans with a good affinity for the topic as well. I guess a lesser impact will have Symphonic and the Art Rock genre, perhaps the Metal genres too, because these are the most popular genres.

I agree that equating "prolific review writing" with "good advice to follow" isn't necessarily true. But I know I used the prolific review writing list as inspiration when I first started coming here and it really helped me to find the some really interesting albums in genres I didnīt know much about. I didnīt ( and donīt) necessarily agree with the reviewers ( and have in some cases written reviews that stated the exact opposite of what was said in the original review) but as a source for inspiration I think itīs a good idea. |

I'm thinking that I'm probably the guy that has reviewed the most RPQ albums. Would that count ?

Even stashing Hughes's reviews in a big basement, you'd still be second. |

I had an idea that while you were down in the pie area of the graph, the hyper link in the table would not direct you to the genre definitions, but instead direct you to the list of reviews the writer wrote in that specific genre.
OR
Going to the table next to it, you can get the hyperlink trhat leads to genre definition to give you the list of the reviwes

Nice idea, but how about the people who have, literally, hundreds of reviews, like yourself and Sean Trane? Will those people stack such titles? Prog reviewer, specialist, prolific reviewer of X genre, moderator/admin . . . Soon there will be not enough room for an avatar, lol.
