Bio from Last FM:

"Disasterpeace (Rich Vreeland) is an American musician and composer originally from the Staten Island section of New York City. He draws heavily from the influences of his favorite musicians and composers, the audio aesthetic of retro video game soundchips, and his music studies to create music that varies in scope, structure, tonality, meter, timbre and theme."

Vreeland is a young fellow, still in college, but he has some great talent if you ask me.  If one has any nostalgia for all of those 8-bit sounds of the NES or simply enjoys good electronic work ought to check this guy out (especially the album Level).  Would make a good additon to the archives!

Disasterpeace's music has been evaluated, but I'm afraid we rejected it, since it doesn't fit the styles, boundaries and prog standards of the genre. You've mentioned appropriately the "nostalgia" for NES sounds and gadgety electro-spins, yet this indie-like music is not something that can been highlighted as "progressive electronic".

It's cool stuff, anyway!
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I probably should've suggest prog-related, I suppose.  If any of these tunes were transposed to your basic guitar, bass, keys, drums setup noone would hesitate to call this prog-rock (all of his albums are concept works, even).  Ah well, I still recommend giving a listen.
