It´s time for the Puppetmaster! With well over 25 movies I was forced to make sum cutbacks, so it´s possible your choice is not here. Still I tried to leave the mayor ones in.

I must admit I am no expert in Hitchcock. I´ve only seen Vertigo, Rear window, Rebecca, Notorious, The Birds and Rope. No, I have not seen Psycho as of yet... shame on me. And I must add that although I do enjoy them all only Rebecca has really appealed to me as the masterpiece it´s out to be. Maybe I need to watch Vertigo (the obvious winner) and Rear window again... who knows? I probably will and will continue watching as many of his movies as I can get my hands on.

Oh, please do vote...

my personal favorite is The Man Who Knew Too Much (his remake with Stewart), though Suspicion, Foreign Correspondent and Strangers are terrific.. heck most all his films were some of the best American cinema ever

Man, I used a lot of emoticons back then!

Hmm, Rear Window gets my vote this time. A clichéd answer perhaps, but the way it masterfully builds suspense is unrivaled, imo.

I recently acquired a box of Hitchcock's early British films. While some of them were quite ahem... clumsy (Secret Agent, anyone?) by Hitchcock's standards, it was good to see that his success later on was no coincidence. The 39 Steps (for example) can still be viewed without feeling embarrassment of any kind - it has not lost any of its charm in the past 75 years or so.

I really liked the Jimmy Stewart version of Man Who Knew Too Much.
