Isn't (or perhaps I should say wasn't) Cerulean Blue available for free download as well?

It is. In 96 kb/s quality, but indeed available as a freebie. Which should be a nice surprise for whoever samples the band here, likes them and subsequently checks out the band's homepage.

Damn, I thought this was an announcement for a new album by him

Still, I'm glad to see some exposure for this gem of an album and highly recommend that anyone who has not heard anything by him should take the opportunity to do so.

I, also, had hoped this would be a new Rain album.  What really makes the album special is the narrative parts which are very well-written and delivered (I find it poignant and has dry humour, and it feels rather sad).  I generally like the music best when it's in more "academic music" territory.  I actually see the album as more "Crossover", or "Art Rock", than "Symph".  Been quite a long while since I last listened to the whole album, but briefly checking out the streaming tracks, they sound great quality to me (the site download less so, and of course the CD is best).

Even though it's been available for years as a download, and streaming on myspace, and I downloaded it years ago, for those like myself who have limited harddrive space, this is a great and convenient option to familiarise oneself with it, and I do think it's deserving of more exposure.  Hopefully this will get more people buying the CD and we can look forward to more Rain

I would think that "Rain" must have been involved in other projects/ made other albums (perhaps under his real name?)....

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.
