Hello there, fellow musicians and music lovers!

I'm an easy-going 19 years old swedish guy who isn't too serious about life, but enjoys it to the fullest (I think). Ever since I started getting involved with music (about 11 years ago) I've always had in mind to, whenever I compose something, make it interesting and a bit different. What brought me into progressiveness is actually two things.

In the city I live in, the radio stations we have plays generetic pop, or at best generetic rock/metal. It sure gets tiring. Sure, there are loads of great POP and rock songs out there, but it's the "generetic" part I grew tired of. The second reason is an event from my childhood. I don't remember who it were, but someone who claimed to "know music" lecturing about "dos" and "don'ts". I remember getting into an argument with this man, asking why the rules were to be followed, with him simply responding that anything else is plain wrong. There was more to it, but I'm too lazy to write it down, since it's not that fun reading anyway. Tongue So as many of you, I just grew tired of the predictableness in music nowdays.

As a musician, I mostly play guitar and the piano. The former one since I was 8, which makes me kinda ashamed considering my skill level. Piano, on the other hand, I picked up during highschool, in which they had a piano in a small, humid room where I often went during breaks. Considering that, I'd say I'm pretty skilled right now. What I like most about music, though, Is to create it. Unluckily for me, there are few people I know, who are interested in progressive music. Those who are, barely have time for it. I recently were in a band called Person, which means "person" in Swedish (no sh*t?). It's sure fun just randomly jamming with people, but it feels like I'm getting nowhere. I'm thinking of getting some nice recording equipment in order to promote myself, and maybe get some people interested. That may take a while, though, since School ended some months ago, and I'm still searching for a decent job.

I found this site some weeks ago trough Google, and it just knocked me to the floor. Seriously, this quantity of quality prog on a single site? that's just unbelievable! I checked the forums a bit too, and I like the general attitude of the members. Hope to see you soon!

That's quite some text, but I hope you at least pretend to read it, and welcome me to the site :D

Oh, I'd say I like alot, but I've recently gotten into Magic Pie and Tool.
If you haven't heard Magic Pie, I suggest you listen to "Pointless Masquerade" and "Dream Vision"
