he's a iranian progressive metal guitarist  really talented his father was the father iranian rock music
He started learning music at age 8 when he attended Tehran Advanced School of Music and also started learning piano with Iranian teacher Ms Novin Afrooz. At that time, he also started playing the guitar in his favorite style Rock and learned to compose music from his father and two uncles (Kamran and Kambiz Yaghmaei).

I remember Kourosh, so I'm curious to hear what  Kaveh does.

I am one of kaveh friends and know his father kourosh well. My uncle played drumms for kourosh. BUT I think Kaveh's style very far from Prog metal. He plays blues and hard rock but progressive, I dont think. His last album released in Canada and in this album I found more POP-ROCK influences. I prefer "scarcrow" and wait for better than scarsrow but "cold silence"  isn't fully rock. I think Kourosh's albums very better than kaveh and I love kourosh's music. He is one of Iranian Rock idols.
I afraid many Iranian in this site attack to me and maybe I upset them BUT progressive Rock is very serious for me and I know Prog fans have great EARS and they listen to kaveh's albums and find his style.
I wish one day kaveh release real Prog Rock album and I'm sure he CAN do this and he has potential to do this. He is a great guitar player and he has great technique. I saw his playing in his father's studio but he must listen Progressive music more.

Other than prog, I like world music and I'm curious about the music coming from cultures digfferent than mine. It all started when I went in Turkey for work, just one week, but I had the possibility to assist to a couple of concert of local musicians. Then I purchased an Oud. It was 1985.

quite floydian, ins't he? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXdnozXn10k&feature=related

Really better than his father. Probably because he lived in a different historical period.
More than prog-metal I would try symphonic-prog.
